Currently engineering executive at Meta, Ivy Liu formerly served as the Senior Vice President of Software Engineering at GEICO and GitHub.

She built the organization and defined the vision, strategy and roadmap of fully managed, cloud-agnostic platforms and services on top of GEICO's hybrid multi-cloud leveraging a high ROI mix of OSS and vendor solutions, enabling all applications, all lines of business and all departments across the company, and supporting GEICO's whole customer base. 

Ivy is an accomplished, visionary and results-driven CTO and Chief Data & AI Officer with over two decades inexperience leading product and engineering organizations across Fortune 10 companies with deep experience in infra, AI, and scalable enterprise platforms. She is an entrepreneur, innovator, and builder with a strong record of creating transformative platforms and category-defining products.

Prior, Ivy served as Senior Vice President of Engineering, GitHub at Microsoft, as Member of the company's Senior ELT and was responsible for the strategy and execution of Developer Cloud products serving 150M+ developers around the world. P&L owner (~$150M budget) managing a world-class talented engineering organization of 450+ distributed across North America, Europe and APAC. Prior, she was VP of Engineering at Microsoft Azure where she scaled a new data-governance SaaS platform to $500M+ ARR in under 2 years.

Prior, Ivy held a role of Head of Engineering at Google, leading growth focused initiatives and product innovations for Google’s Digital Advertising business with extensive experience in Ad formats and placement, Ad quality, data-driven decision-making, experimentation and A/B testing, Ad Serving Infrastructure and Ad Exchange.

Ivy holds a BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from Jilin University and MSc in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.
