John T. Marcante is an award-winning technology and business executive with deep expertise in digital transformation, business strategy, financial services, and cybersecurity. John advises Fortune 500 C-suite leaders and executives on navigating complex technology and innovation challenges. He brings decades of executive experience, including nearly a decade as Global Chief Information Officer at Vanguard, one of the world’s largest investment management firms.

At Deloitte, John serves as an independent strategic advisor to clients, senior leadership, and practitioners across industries. He also chairs Deloitte’s CIO Advisory Council, helping shape the firm’s technology agenda at the highest levels.

During his tenure as Vanguard’s Global CIO, reporting directly to the Chairman and CEO, John played a pivotal role in scaling the firm to $12 trillion in global assets. He led major digital and organizational transformations that disrupted the financial services landscape. Under his leadership, Vanguard consistently ranked among Computerworld’s Top 10 Best Places to Work, achieving industry-leading employee engagement.

Before his CIO role, John led Vanguard’s high-net-worth and wealth management businesses, and founded the internal startup that created the firm’s global advice platform. This platform democratized access to personalized financial advice, combining digital and in-person services at scale—cementing Vanguard’s entry into the wealth management business.

As the founder of Technology Leadership Solutions, LLC, John provides technology strategy consulting, executive coaching, and leadership development for technology leaders, helping shape the next generation of C-level talent. John also serves as a Senior Advisor to Fleet and AIIRIFY, helping advance AI-driven platforms and autonomous solutions for enterprise use.

Beyond his corporate achievements, John has served as Board Chair and Nominating Committee Lead for Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia, where he led a successful capital campaign that doubled the capacity of the organization’s Giving Factory, expanding its impact on underserved children in the region.

John is a frequent keynote speaker, executive coach, and contributor to the Wall Street Journal’s CIO Journal.
