Justin Heller

Justin Heller is Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer at Synchrony Financial, where he is leading the design and implementation of the enterprise-wide data strategy and governance program. He establishes standards for data definition, measurement, accessibility for business processes (including analytics and regulatory reporting), and governance throughout the data lifecycle, all aimed at supporting customers and clients effectively.

Justin is a Senior Executive, Board Director, and recognized leader in Data Management. Listed among the top 100 data influencers in North America, he is renowned for advancing data management and data risk governance at the Executive Suite and Corporate Board levels to both protect and drive organizational growth.

With extensive experience in regulatory and investor oversight, Justin has held key corporate leadership roles at publicly traded and high-profile companies including EY, S&P Ratings, Citigroup, Moody’s, and others.

He serves on the EDM Council’s Global Data Leader Forum (GDLF) and CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board and is a sought-after speaker and advisor to industry groups and media. His presentations and roundtables have covered a wide range of topics.

Justin has built and led diverse, global teams by fostering innovative approaches to data management, risk, and regulatory compliance that boost productivity and revenue. Committed to developing future talent, Justin mentors students at Cornell University and the University of Denver, as well as professionals through industry events.

Justin holds a Master’s degree in Interactive Telecommunications and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from New York University.
